In the period from June 2 to 4, 2023, all partners of the "My City Through Time" project gathered in Berlin for the second partner meeting. On the first day, we tried the tours prepared by our hosts from Artistania and got to know Berlin better, especially the Neukolln district where their organization is located. Then we evaluated everything we have done so far, especially the work on the first result and the local dissemination events. The next day, the partners agreed on the methodology and structure for the creation of the second result of the project - a toolkit with workshops and educational cards, which was the main goal of this meeting.

We will start preparing the results in September. Follow us further to get more information.

The cities we live in are not neutral. They are a reflection of values and narratives that communicate to citizens through elements in public space, such as monuments, names of streets and squares, and architecture. However, many citizens are not aware of this phenomenon and do not approach it critically.

Through the project "My City Through Time", we will create knowledge, methods, and recommendations with which we want to develop the awareness of citizens, especially young people, and encourage them to take a critical approach to the elements of public space in 7 European cities: Zagreb, Berlin, Barcelona, Thessaloniki, Vienna, Gorizia, and Maribor.

Join us at the workshop and presentation of the first result of the project on Friday, May 19, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the premises of the Ribnjak Youth Center to get to know Zagreb's public space better. At the beginning, we will present the thematic units on which we have emphasized - depiction of women from tradition to modernity, locations related to the activities of the Croatian Anti-War Campaign, places connected with student movements during the 20th century, as well as locations connected to the contribution of the Serbian minority to Zagreb. After the presentation, the participants will try the presented tours themselves, visit the selected locations and reflect on them. After our return, we will evaluate the tried-and-tested methods together, with the aim of improving them.

On Monday, January 16, 2023, we gathered in Zagreb and started a partnership meeting in the House of Human Rights, where we opened the new Erasmus+ project "My City Through Time". The goal was to get to know all the partners, start building a team spirit, solve some open questions and decide on the favorite and most important topics and create a methodology for the first project result - 7 publications that will deal with public space in the partner cities (Barcelona, Vienna, Berlin, Gorizia, Maribor, Thessaloniki, and Zagreb) and their historical and contemporary problems. As an introduction to the topic, the partners researched the history of Zagreb, public space, and monuments in the city.

Now we continue to work on the first result of the project, which we are very excited about.

Poučavanje o Holokaustu i ljudskim pravima

Seminar je namijenjen učiteljima osnovnih i srednjih škola. Od sudionika se očekuje da imaju prethodno iskustvo poučavanja o Holokaustu i moraju biti zainteresirani da nastave poučavati o toj temi, kao i o ljudskim pravima i društvenoj pravednosti u budućnosti. Nakon seminara, svim sudionicima ponudit ćemo mogućnost da apliciraju za mini-grant, kako bi dobivenom potporom primijenili obrazovne projekte sa svojim učenicima i prenijeli znanje koje su stekli na seminaru u učionice i lokalne zajednice.

Sudjelovanje na seminaru je besplatno. Smještaj i hrana pokriveni su od strane organizatora za čitavog trajanja seminara. Putni troškovi nisu pokriveni. Sudionici bi sami trebali organizirati dolazak i odlazak, i to tako da su u mogućnosti sudjelovati za cijelog trajanja seminara.

Radni jezik seminara je hrvatski, a sva predavanja stranih govornika bit će prevođena.
